Chief Minister Naidu Champions AI and Innovation at IIT Madras Summit

Vijayawada, March 28, 2025: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has called on students and scholars to embrace artificial intelligence (AI) for real-time decision-making and leadership in emerging technologies. Speaking at the All India Research Scholars Summit (AIRSS)-2025 hosted by the prestigious IIT Madras, Naidu highlighted the importance of AI, stating that 65% of Indians are already leveraging it, compared to a global average of 30%.
Naidu underscored the transformative potential of AI and quantum computing while announcing ambitious plans for a “Quantum Valley” in Amaravati in collaboration with IIT Madras. This initiative aims to position Andhra Pradesh at the forefront of technological advancement.
The Chief Minister also lauded the role of IIT Madras in nurturing startups like Agnikul Cosmos and Mindgrow Technologies, which are driving India’s space and semiconductor innovation. He expressed optimism about India’s future as a global leader, projecting double-digit economic growth and a climb to the top of the world’s economic rankings by 2047.
Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s strides in green energy, Naidu revealed that the state is set to generate 160 GW of renewable power as part of India’s target of 500 GW within five years. Investments exceeding ₹10 lakh crore in green energy are expected to create 7.5 lakh jobs in the state, complemented by NTPC’s green hydrogen initiatives and Reliance’s bioenergy projects.
Naidu’s vision extends to a robust digital infrastructure, with plans for a Google data center and a high-speed sea cable connecting Singapore and Visakhapatnam. He emphasized stable policies, skilled migration, and public-private collaboration as keys to sustained development.
As India continues its digital revolution—with 1,673 crore UPI transactions valued at $2.4 trillion in 2024—Naidu urged young minds to innovate and develop practical AI applications, ensuring India remains a global technology leader.
