How Does Project Soli Technology Change The Future Generations?

We heard of Magic Wand in the stories. Now we will make our hand a Magic Hand. Yes, the project Soli of Google is going to make it happen very soon. Soli Technology is a new gesture Identification Technology. This Soli Project is a part of Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP).

Soli Project’s aim is to visualize the concept of virtual gesture Identification.  This New Concept uses small and high-velocity sensors and techniques of data analysis incorporated in electronic devices like Doppler.

Project Soli Technology helps a user to control and command a computer using his fingers in a particular pattern. Soli technology doesn’t have any physical interaction between the user and the device. It works primarily on virtual gesture identification.

A scientist named Ivan Poupyrev is heading the soli Project. Google announced this Soli Technology Project back in 2015.

Soli Technology enables the users to interact virtually without any physical interaction or Touch. This technology primarily works on the perceptive user interface.

This perceptive user interface allows the users to issue commands and control the computers. It controls with hand gestures, eye movement, body movement, and vocal gestures. Soli works with a novel detection system that is being used in Radars.

Virtual interaction without any physical touch is possible with the help of radar signals. Radar signals analyze these gestures and control and command the computers and devices according to the pre-defined perceptive user interface.

This chip used in the devices using Soli Technology has a sensor that processes electronics and a group of antennas. This chip will be very tiny not more than 10mm x 8mm.

Creating Wireless Bond Between Man and Machine

The Concept of Soli Technology is emerged out of long-run research into Gesture Identification.  Gestures play a significant part in human interaction. If human gestures can control the devices, it will be a revolutionary change in human life.

The human being will become a Miraculous Magician using his Magic Hand which knows Soli Technology.  Soli Technology uses a tiny radar device for detecting touchless and virtual gesture identification.

We can use this technology in mobile phones, automobiles, devices for the Internet of Things, and wearable devices. Soli technology after having complete nourishment and nurture will have a capacity to identify about 3000 movements per second.

This project is being undertaken jointly by Google and Infineon. The Chip which is used for the devices using Soli technology will have an amalgamation of software and hardware that enables perceptive user interface.

How does Project Soli Technology Work?

In this Soli Technology, the chip monitors the movement of the hand, in a kind of kinetic energy transducer in the electrical signals. Then the electrical signal responds in time and in amplitudes as per the movements of the hands.

The primary objective of Google’s ATAP’s Soli Project is to utilize radar technology to analyze the gestures of the human hand to issue commands and control electronic devices using Soli Technology.

Sensor equipment works by discharging electromagnetic impressions in a broad beam. The substances inside the beam diffuse a level of energy, such as to redirect a small part in the direction of the radar aerial.

The properties of the reflected signal, such as energy and delay time, provide statistics on the dynamism of the actions, including shape, orientation, size, shape, etc. Soli recognizes the dynamic gestures expressed by the movements of the fingers and the hand and can distinguish them within his field of action.

Google’s Soli Project

Google’s ATAP’s Soli Project is working to control the devices with the use of an imaginary or visualized switch between the thumb and the index finger, or grabbing a virtual slider in thin air. Even though these controls are not physical, Soli technology can percept the human movement and decodes the information and acts as per the pre-programmed perceptive user interface.

Soli tracks and makes out dynamic movements expressed by little indications of the fingers and hand. In the process of achieving this facility, Google along with Infineon developed an innovative radar sensing prototype with custom-made hardware, software, and set of rules.

Soli does not need broad bandwidth and high spatial resolution like old-fashioned radar sensors. The devices using Soli have no moving parts. Soli fits onto a chip and uses little energy. Light conditions do not influence it and, it works through most materials.

Soli Technology is going to revolutionize the world of electronics. This technology is creating the best interaction methodology between Man and Machine. There will be a better understanding of Man and Machine.  But we know that technology always strives to find a solution to a problem, and in the due course of finding the solution to the problem, it paves the way to 1000 new issues.
